The 4-4-4 Breathing Technique

This breathing method — which is used by soldiers, athletes, and stressed-out CEOs — is a super easy way to calm down in just 5 minutes.

Here's how it works…

1. Slowly exhale for a count of four. (Try to push all the air out of your lungs.)

2. Slowly inhale for a count of four. (Really feel the air filling up your lungs.)

3. Hold your breath for a count of four.

4. Then exhale for four and repeat.

This breathing method works by building up carbon dioxide in the blood, which helps produce a calm and relaxed state in your body.
